I absolutely LOVE the Christmas holidays! The gatherings, the glowing lights, the wreaths, the sparkly decorations, warms fires, musical cheer and best of all the food! Ooooh the food! This is the time of the year where I allow myself to enjoy those special treats. Everyone has their own personal favorites and mine range from gingerbread to pancakes, stuffing, eggnog, mulled wine and hot cocoa! Delicious! Inevitably, I end up with some indigestion. The holiday season typically results in the worst period of time for digestion and weight gain – cue the booing – and we pay for it through January. So how can you avoid the holiday season hangover without completely depriving yourself of all the things you love?
Snacks are a hot topic in our home lately. We.love.snacks. Haha! The challenge for me has been to keep my very picky almost 3 year old interested in what I serve and keep it healthy! This summer has been a hot one and so keeping cool with healthy snacks is on my mind! Because I also recently gave birth to our second baby girl, life is extra busy and so fast easy and refreshing snacks are what I go for.
We love summer and this is our first summer as a family of four. We’ve also just renovated our backyard to make it a usable space, so we’re not quite ready to plant a garden just yet – probably next summer. For this reason, we’ve been looking for easy table top options to grow our own food and start teaching our two year old how to care for plants and help them grow.
